HOW TO USE IT

More information

Focus on your health
The Zinzino VitaminD Test is a self-test that analyzes vitamin D levels in capillary blood obtained from your fingertip using the dried blood spot (DBS) technique. DBS has been scientifically proven to be as accurate as a venous blood sample for vitamin D testing. All that's needed is 1 or 2 drops of blood from your fingertip onto Whatman® filter paper, and it takes less than a minute to perform. Your current vitamin D level will be analyzed by the Norwegian testing service VITAS, and the result will be anonymous. Vitamin D levels can fluctuate throughout the year depending on sun exposure, your diet where you live, and dietary supplements. Therefore, the recommended testing interval is 120 days. With your personal test ID, you will receive detailed, customized recommendations based on your vitamin D level to help you optimize it.

What we measure
There are different methods for assessing your body's vitamin D levels, and we use best practices to ensure the highest accuracy in our tests. A 25-hydroxyvitamin D test is the best way to monitor vitamin D levels, as it measures 25(OH)D, also called calcidiol, in the blood.

The test reflects the three sources of vitamin D (food, supplements, and skin synthesis) and determines whether your vitamin D levels are optimal, too high, or too low.

The normal range for vitamin D is measured in nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml) or nanomoles per liter (nmol/l). nmol/l is the most common way to display vitamin D levels. However, in the US and some other countries, the same levels are measured using nanograms per milliliter (or ng/ml). Therefore, when test results are presented, you can select the unit of measurement to be displayed.

How does it work?

Step 1. Take the test
You just need to prick your finger and put 1-2 drops of blood on a paper filter.

Step 2. Activate your trial
To register your test, enter the test ID and fill out the form. All data will be anonymous.

Step 3. Begin your experience
Benefit from a clear starting point on your journey to a healthy immune system. Gently adjust and maintain your optimal vitamin D level throughout the year. Step 4. Wait for the analysis
Vitas Analytical Services has over 25 years of experience in cutting-edge methods and technology, guaranteeing independent analysis of your samples and protecting your privacy.

Step 5. Obtain the results
The results will be available in 10-20 days and will be displayed in easy-to-understand graphs.

Step 6. Double-check your levels
Vitamin D absorption from sun exposure varies in many parts of the world throughout the year, and restoring your levels generally takes 3-4 months of vitamin D supplementation, depending on the dosage and your initial level. We recommend retesting every 4 months to monitor your progress and ensure you reach and maintain optimal vitamin D levels.
