HOW TO USE IT

More information

Focus on your health
Zinzino’s VitaminD Test is a self-test for analyzing vitamin D levels in capillary blood obtained from a finger prick using the Dried Blood Spot (DBS) technique. It has been scientifically proven that a DBS is as accurate as a venous blood sample when analyzing vitamin D levels. All that is needed is 1 or 2 drops of blood from the fingertip on a Whatman® filter paper, and it takes less than a minute to do. Norway’s VITAS analysis service will analyze your current vitamin D level, and the result will be anonymous. The level can vary throughout the year depending on sun exposure, diet where you live, and dietary supplements. Therefore, the recommended testing interval is 120 days. With your personal test ID, you will receive detailed personalized recommendations based on your vitamin D level to optimize it.

What we measure
There are different methods to assess your body’s vitamin D stores, and we use best practices to ensure that our analytical accuracy is superior. A 25-hydroxyvitamin D test is the best way to monitor vitamin D levels, as it measures 25(OH)D, also called calcidiol, in the blood.

The test reflects all three sources of vitamin D (food, supplements, and skin synthesis) and determines whether your vitamin D levels are optimal, too high, or too low.

The normal range for vitamin D is measured as nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml) or nanomoles per liter (nmol/l). nmol/l is the most common way to display the vitamin D level. However, in the US and some other countries, the same levels are measured using nanograms per milliliter (or ng/ml). Therefore, when test results are presented, it is possible to select the unit of measurement to be displayed.

How does it work?

Step 1. Take the test
Simply prick your finger and place 1-2 drops of blood on a filter paper.

Step 2. Activate your test
To register your test, enter the test ID and fill out the form. All data will be anonymous.

Step 3. Start your experience
Benefit from a clear starting point for your journey to a normally functioning immune system. Gently adjust and maintain your optimal vitamin D level throughout the year. Step 4. Wait for the analysis
Vitas Analytical Services has over 25 years of experience in state-of-the-art methods and technology, which ensure your samples are analyzed independently and your privacy is protected.

Step 5. Get the results
Results will be available in 10-20 days and displayed in easy-to-understand graphs.

Step 6. Recheck your levels
Vitamin D absorption from sun exposure varies in many parts of the world throughout the year, and restoring your level usually takes 3-4 months of vitamin D supplement consumption, depending on the dosage and your current level. We recommend retesting every 4 months to track your progress and ensure you reach and maintain your optimal vitamin D status.
