More and more natural cosmetic brands are including vegetable oils in their formulas to enrich them and boost their action.
Our skin protects itself from external aggressions, viruses, or bacteria through the hydrolipidic mantle.
As the word indicates, hydro (water) and lipidic (fats) means it is made up of both components; if it lacks either one, our protective barrier is affected, leading to skin that is more dehydrated, sensitive, or more predisposed to premature aging.
The skin's cell membrane is made up of lipids.
But if we want to hydrate it, that’s where facial oils are the winners, because they will not only prevent transepidermal water loss, but they will also provide nutrients, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids like omegas 3, 6, and 9.”

How to apply natural facial oil with a facial massage?

There are various facial oil formulas for every need.
For dry and dehydrated skin, we bet on formulas rich in omega 3, 6, 7, and 9, which will provide elasticity, retain water, play a unique preventive role in the appearance of new wrinkles, and fill in fine lines, even making them disappear.
Their extra dose of nourishment maintains an extra protective layer over our natural mantle that helps reduce flaking and tightness.

Facial oils for oily skin

What happens to our skin when we try to eliminate oil by any means necessary is that we generate an aggression, damaging the protective mantle and unbalancing the pH. This causes the skin—in order to protect itself naturally and avoid suffering from transepidermal water loss—to produce even more sebum, causing the opposite effect to what is desired.
This is how we feel like our skin is oily when in reality it is not; it is simply dehydrated due to an alteration in the lipid barrier.
Some vegetable oils help regulate the sebaceous gland and, therefore, the production of oil (sebum) in the skin.
In cases of acne, it is always better to request an online or in-person visit to personalize the treatment and be able to provide more tools, such as anti-inflammatory nutrition, supplementation, and a cosmetic routine adapted to each particular case.

The best natural facial oil for the face

It is very simple: if you include it as one more step in your routine, you must always remember that it should go from lightest to thickest, so the facial oil will be the last step.
But it is equally valid if you apply a few drops mixed with your moisturizer.
If you apply it as a single step after cleansing to perform a good self-massage and let it "simmer"…
Over low heat. Or we also highly recommend it to provide luminosity—especially for dry or very dull skin—by mixing it with your foundation or natural sunscreen, since these types of cosmetics sometimes tend to leave the skin matte or a bit dry on skin that suffers from dryness. This tip is foolproof, try it and you'll see!

Natural facial oils for dry skin

Dry skin is not just a lack of water; it is a weakened lipid barrier that does not retain hydration well and loses transdermal water easily. That is why a moisturizer alone is not always enough. Natural facial oil reinforces exactly that: the protective mantle.

Oils rich in omegas 3, 6, and 9, such as argan, marula, or prickly pear, deeply nourish the outermost layers of the skin, provide elasticity, and reduce the feeling of tightness from the very first application. They don't seal; they nourish. And well-nourished skin retains hydration much better.

For dry skin, my recommendation is to incorporate natural facial oil as the last step of your night routine, or mixed with a few drops in your day cream. If your skin is very dry or reactive, applying it directly to skin that is still damp after toner multiplies the results.

Facial oils for mature skin

With the passage of time, the natural production of collagen and elastin decreases, the skin loses density, and expression lines become more visible. But aging well is not about fighting that; it is about giving the skin what it needs to stay strong, nourished, and luminous at every stage.

Natural facial oils for mature skin work on several fronts at once: they repair the skin barrier, provide antioxidants that curb oxidative damage, and deeply nourish without clogging pores. The most powerful ones for this skin type are those rich in natural vitamin C, essential fatty acids, and regenerating actives such as marula oil or prickly pear oil, two of my favorites in the salon.

What I like most about incorporating a facial oil into mature skincare is that the skin responds quickly: more plumpness, more uniformity, and that "well-rested" skin feeling that we sometimes think is no longer possible. It is possible. It just needs the right active ingredients.
