How should I take care of my kidneys?
DIET
Healthy foods, from the sea (fish, shellfish, crustaceans), and seaweeds (kombu, wakame, arame), warm broths and infusions.
Seaweeds are the oldest vegetables on the planet, providing us with minerals and trace elements that we assimilate perfectly.
Each seaweed has a different amount of micronutrients, but in general, they provide calcium, iron, sodium, potassium, and iodine. Additionally, they contain powerful antioxidants that neutralize free radicals.
You can incorporate a small amount into your diet, a maximum of 1 tablespoon hydrated per day. For example, a good option is to add kombu and wakame to vegetable broths.
The type of food preparation is related to the water element, and the most advisable for nourishing yourself in winter is slow cooking, as this way we obtain the largest possible amount of nutrients from each food.
- Preparing a rich and warm broth is not only pleasant and super comforting but also ideal for the kidneys.
- Seeds, nuts, mushrooms, pumpkins, roots, and dried fruits, cranberries, goji berries, are very rich foods for this season.
- Medicinal mushrooms like: Shiitake, Reishi, Cordyceps. In this case, you can take them as a supplement if necessary, and my favorites are from Hifas da Terra.

For boosting defenses, Reishi is the most recommended.
Spicy but mild foods and spices, such as ginger, garlic, cinnamon, or cloves, will also be very useful, as they warm you up but, importantly, do not cause sweating and dry out organic liquids. This would be the case for strong spices like cayenne or pepper, which can be used occasionally and in small amounts.

QUALITY WATER
Energetically, winter is the time of year to awaken our inner consciousness and consider only what is essential.
Water is the element of winter and teaches us to find stillness. It shows us the path of least resistance and acceptance of all things.
It's important to drink warm or hot water during winter, and it's completely inadvisable to drink cold beverages of any kind.
When I say drink water, I mean DRINK WATER! That is, infusions and broths do not replace water; they are simply a beneficial addition that helps tone the kidneys.
That's why I make sure to ingest good quality water for cooking, drinking, and daily use in the shower (it's also absorbed through our pores). At home, we always use Alkanatur filters.
Here's a 10% discount code if you're interested in trying their pitchers or filters.
LAURAPUGA
If you check their website, you'll see they have wonderful pitchers made with plastic completely free of disruptors, as well as shower filters, osmosis, and ultrafiltration systems…
These filters purify, alkalize, hydrogenate, and ionize water, and provide magnesium.
They are capable of removing certain substances from tap water, such as antimony, copper, nitrate, lead, aluminum, ammonium, chlorine, iron…
RELAXATION and MEDITATION
With mineral salt baths and aromatherapy.
Prepare a warm bath with a tablespoon of sea salt and 3 drops of lavender essential oil (the essential oil that should never be missing, ideal for calming and relaxing mind and body) and 3 drops of palo de oh essential oil. (helps combat the sadness caused by lack of light in winter, spring asthenia, and intellectual fatigue).
Another quicker, simpler, and equally effective option that helps tone the kidneys is to soak your feet in hot water with grated fresh ginger or add a few drops of essential oil with sea salt.
Anytime you have the opportunity, you can apply a seed bag or hot water bottle to the kidney area; it will generate an immediate state of relaxation and relief.
AVOID an electric heating pad, as the radiation it emits damages our body's cells and harms our kidneys and adrenal glands.
Accompany this moment with meditation and music:
Imagine a gentle stream of crystal-clear water within you.
Visualize how that water reaches your kidneys, enveloping them with a clear and transparent light.
Feel how it moves serenely, as if caressing every part, carrying away any tension, any burden, any energy you no longer need.
Observe how this flow continues its path, descending and then expanding throughout your entire body, your abdomen, your chest, your arms, your legs…
The water flows, and every corner it touches brightens, lightens, becomes cleaner and freer.
Allow that sensation to extend beyond the physical body and visualize how it also cleanses your energy, your emotions, and your internal space.
Everything is purified gently, calmly, with love.
